Chapter Meetings, Presentations, Conferences, and Networking Events

In keeping with ARMA International’s mission for records management, to educate, advocate and provide resources that enable professionals to manage information as a critical element of the organizational operations and governance, the Capitol Chapter has a proposed schedule of educational events for the 2016-17 fiscal year. The Capitol Chapter will host presentations by expert speakers to present and discuss Records and Information Management (RIM) topics. In addition, we will periodically host networking events for sharing and gaining knowledge on topics of your choosing. Please keep checking back for future events, get on our contact list by registering on this site, or join us on Linked-In.

The Greater Sacramento Capitol Chapter of ARMA International is proud to present the last in our series Building Your Dream Records Program: Data Science, Robots and RIM presented by Doug Stewart, CRA.

There is currently a great deal of buzz surrounding data science, analytics, big data, cognitive computing and artificial intelligence (AI). In this session we peel back the hype to examine the benefits these techniques offer to RIM practitioners. We will start off by defining what these disciplines are and, importantly, what they are not. We will take a non-technical hands-on approach to explore how some of the data science and analytics techniques work. Most importantly, we will then explore their applicability to Records Management and Information Governance.

We will also hold our popular Records Round Table. Please bring your challenges and questions and we will crowdsource solutions!

PLEASE NOTE: Registration starts at 1 pm, but the program does not start until 1:30 pm. Please use the sign-in time to network with your colleagues.
